ZBrush - Week 2 - Gryphon Bust

This is my fourth forray into ZBrush. I wanted to continue past the bust of a creature and try to incorporate a bit of body and... let's just say that the wings and I fought quite a bit to even get to this stage (including two ZBrush freezes while dynameshing, boo!).

That said, I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I like the head/neck/body well enough for what they are, but I just don't know what approach I should have been using for the wings and feathers.

I think I got more than a little bit ambitious for my current skill in ZBrush, but at least I'm learning!

BTW: This was actually intended to be a particular gryphon side-character from my story-stuff, and I've attached one of the journal pages where I sketched him last year. You can see him here:
