Zombie Eyes Renewed

*REALLY OLD ART* ~ Completed on June 3rd, 2006 ~

So that seems like a million years ago, I was at a convention with selling a variety of completed art and smaller sketchbook commissions, and somewhere in there I think the two of us were being silly and she said I should draw her character. Mind you: I'm fairly certain we were half-delirious at the time from lack of sleep (which I'm sure any of you who attend conventions know all-too well), but somehow I thought it would be awesomely sneaky to draw her character in a well... "warped" kind of way.

So, amid secretly giggling to myself, I sketched out her very normally alive character as... well... a zombie.

This is around 4 inches by 5 inches and took me about two and a half to three hours (which is really fast for me) and it was done in ink and a dabble of marker on sketchbook paper. I... wasn't expecting to ink it or anything, I just... kept going and going... Originally I'd thought to do her as a skeleton, but the muses thought otherwise...

I love all the loose, fun, freehand details...and I'm sure some of you are wondering about my sanity about now. >_>

She is grooming her paw (and mind you, there would be a lot of dead flakes and chunks of flesh and fur coming off as well). She has one little ear and part of the cartilage of the second behind that "froof" of hers. Awww! So precious!

She's so morbidly squishy (probably literally)! I had way too much fun doing this. ^_^ I rarely get to just go crazy and "drippy" as I did here: so much sinewy-undead, bony, floofy, flaky goodness! It was a nice change from all the other commissions I did that weekend, that's for sure! People tend to prefer "cute" to "warped" for some odd reason.

I adjusted the levels in the original scan I had of this from 2006 and added a few hints of lighter bone to the image last night, but otherwise: it's just how it was in 2006 when I drew it.
